NABIRE | Chairman of the Free Papua Organization, West Papua National Liberation Army (FPO-WPNLA) Jeffrey P. Bomanak assesses that the report by the Head of the Papua Regional Police Inspector General of Police Mathius D. Fahiri regarding the request for an amount of money worth 5 billion by the leadership of Regional Defense Commander (RDC III) Ndugama Egianus Kogoya is public fraud.
“We explain that the deception of the Papuan Police Chief is based on the Law and Triassic of state politics and the Papuan Police Chief has violated Indonesian laws Criminal Code 375 and Criminal Code 310 concerning public fraud on behalf of the Police institution and also defamation,” said Jeffrey to this media, Sunday (9/7/ 2023).
Because according to him, previously the Head of the Papua Regional Police made a statement through a number of media in Indonesia including several media in Papua with different headlines, that “Requests for Funds from the Egianus Kogoya Group Will Be Prepared by the Regional Government of Nduga, Our Country Does Not Fulfill Ammunition or Independent Requests”.
“We have never asked for a ransom at all. That statement is just public fraud,” he said.
For this reason, Bomanak asked Indonesian President Jokowi, the National Police Chief, the Menhankam, or the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs to immediately dismiss the Papua Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Pol Mathius D. Fahiri.
“If President Jokowi, the National Police Chief and the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs do not fire the Papua Police Chief together with competent parties, then Indonesia is a country that violates its own laws and a country that violates universally applicable international law,” he said.
Apart from that, he said, the Commander of Kodap III Ndugama Egianus Kogoya also denied that he had never asked for a ransom of 5 billion to free Capt Pilot Philips Marthens.
“We have never asked for money, but we have asked for international recognition and negotiations for an independent Papua,” he explained.
He stated that so far his party had never met or even established communication connectivity with anyone, including the indonesian army / police authorities, directly or indirectly.
“We are fighting for an independent Papua. And so far we have never cooperated with the Indonesian state authorities. But we are fighting for an independent Papua,” he said.[Red].
